The hepatitis C management model that has been developed in recent years in Cornwall provides an integrated model of care for people with hepatitis C in the county, incorporating partnerships between hospital-based hepatology and drug and alcohol services and spanning testing, treatment and care.

A Public Health England update on the 2013 report, highlighting that hepatitis C levels are still high; that hepatitis B is now rare and vaccine uptake has improved; that HIV levels remain low and the uptake of care is good; that bacterial infections remain a major problem; that injecting risk behaviours have declined but remain a problem; and that changing patterns of psychoactive drug injection are a cause for concern. The database lists the detention centre to which each hospital is connected, the hospital providing treatment, and the lead consultant and lead nurse's name, email address and telephone number. Rapid Decline in HCV Incidence among People Who Inject Drugs Associated with National Scale-Up in Coverage of a Combination of Harm Reduction Interventions
This study, funded by the Scottish Government, sought to determine whether trends in the proportion of injectors newly infected with hepatitis C in Scotland between 2008 and 2012 could be linked to the adequacy of provision of sterile injecting equipment and of methadone maintenance treatment.
