This report from the London Joint Working Group on Substance Use and Hepatitis C (LJWG) shows the findings from a pilot project providing point of care testing for hepatitis C to people who inject drugs accessing needle and syringe programmes based at community pharmacies in London. Of the 66 people who accepted a test, 39% were hepatitis C RNA positive. 78% of those tested also stated they would prefer to receive HCV treatment in their community pharmacy.

This report by HCV Action investigates the prioritisation of hepatitis C virus (HCV) infection by Health and Wellbeing Boards (HWBs) across England. The aim of the review is to compare the extent to which local authorities have considered the diagnosis and treatment of hepatitis C in their area, in order to identify the range of local commissioning and treatment practices that exist across England. Evidence was gathered from the most recent Joint Strategic Needs Assessments (JSNA) and Joint Health and Wellbeing Strategies (JHWS) available from local authorities.
