Good practice case study: Pharmacy in Ramsgate giving out daily treatment

Download
This good practice case study looks at the service developed in a collaboration between Courts Pharmacy in Ramsgate, a nurse from East Kent Hospitals University NHS Foundation Trust, and The Forward Trust. Patients who are deemed unlikely to independently manage four weeks of treatment are given the medication in the pharmacy itself so they do not have to look after large numbers of tablets for long periods of time, getting around current legislative barriers preventing the dispensing of hepatitis C treatment from pharmacies.
