Legal Barriers for Providing HCV Community Testing in Europe

Correlation European Harm Reduction Network
This report from the Correlation European Harm Reduction Network is based on a telephone survey conducted in September and October 2018 with representatives of harm reduction services and NGOs that offer low-threshold services to drug users. Among those who took part in the study, 85% of organisations responded that peer workers perform HCV tests in non-medical settings, 74% said that laws and regulations need to be changed to support increased peer testing, and HCV community testing not being seen as a priority among policy-makers was identified as the most common barrier to more peer testing.
