Public Health England
This resource, produced by Public Health England, provides an annual update on infections among people who inject drugs (PWIDs) in the UK. The report reveals that hepatitis C remains the most common blood-borne infection among PWIDs, and that approximately half (48%) of hepatitis C infections among PWIDs remain undiagnosed. Of those who were unaware of their infection, 22% reported that they had never been tested, and of those unaware but tested, 44% reported that their last test had been more than two years earlier.
