This report summarises the October 2020 HCV Action webinar on hepatitis C case-finding in under-served groups, which formed part of a week-long series of webinars centred around the National Hepatitis C ODN Stakeholder Event.
The webinar focused on four under-served groups in particular: Gypsy, Roma and Travellers; migrants; sex-workers, and the South Asian community.

HCV Action ODN Stakeholder Event 2020: A national perspective on elimination
These are the opening talks from this year's ODN Stakeholder Event from Mark Gillyon-Powell, Head of Programme for HCV Elimination, NHS England and Prof Graham Foster, National Clinical Lead for ODNs, NHS England. The talks gives a national overview on hepatitis C elimination efforts in England and how COVID-19 has impacted these. Professor Guruprasad Aithal, President of the British Association for the Study of the Liver (BASL) chaired the event. Understanding the Sexual Health and Blood Borne Virus Risk Behaviours of Defined 'at risk' Groups
This report outlines the findings of research with drug users and the staff that support them related to harms associated with chemsex, transactional sex; and the use of image and performance enhancing drugs (IPEDs). Twos aims of the report were to describe the risk-taking behaviours in relation to drug taking, sexual health and transmission of BBV (blood borne virus) of the three target groups and inform the development of a training programme for services providers on sexual health and blood borne viruses for the three defined groups.Scotland 07 Sep 2020 Reports & Research PDF -
Good practice case study: Pop-up hepatitis C testing for people in supported accommodation during the COVID-19 outbreak
During the COVID-19 pandemic, the ‘Everyone In’ policy meant that people who would otherwise be homeless were given accommodation in hotels. Surrey Operational Delivery Network, like many other ODNs, used this as an opportunity to engage with this cohort, offering testing and treatment for hepatitis C. Good practice case study: Hepatitis C care for homeless individuals in Slough
This good practice case study, produced by the Turning Point substance misuse service, highlights recent work carried out by nurse and hepatitis C champion Fay Smith in collaboration with colleagues.
