    There is an increasing demand nationally and locally for HCV Specialist Nurses. Nurses wishing to become HCV specialist nurses come from a variety of nursing backgrounds. This reflects the need to coordinate and standardise training regarding this emerging speciality. Currently, there are no pre- or post-registration courses specifically designed to deliver training for viral hepatitis in nursing.

  • Guidelines for Laboratory Testing of Patients with hepatitis C in Greater Manchester
    These Guidelines on laboratory testing of patients with hepatitis C were issued by the NHS Association of Greater Manchester Primary Care Trusts, and should be read in conjunction with the ‘Treatment Guidance for Patients with hepatitis C in Greater Manchester’ issued 5th August 2009. The Guidance refers to virological testing of patients and does not detail biochemical, haematological or histopathological testing of patients with hepatitis C.
