  • Hepatitis C Action Plan for England: July 2004
    The growing importance of hepatitis C as a public health issue in England was highlighted in 2002 with the publication of the Government’s Hepatitis C Strategy for England. It brought together existing initiatives to tackle hepatitis C and suggested how prevention, diagnosis and treatment could be improved. This Action Plan, which is based on best practice, serves as a broad framework for implementation of the Hepatitis C Strategy for England. It reflects ongoing work that needs to be sustained and intensified and also identifies new areas for action.

  • Hepatitis C Action Plan for Scotland Phase II: May 2008 – March 2011
    The Phase II Hepatitis C Action Plan follows the Scottish Government's first Hepatitis C Action Plan, published in September 2006. A significant strand of the plan is about improving testing, treatment, care and support services for those infected, with a major emphasis placed on increasing the number of people receiving treatment. The plan also recognises and addresses the social care needs and drug addiction problems of infected persons through actions aimed at improving links between clinical, addiction and mental health services.

  • Hepatitis C among drug users in Europe: Epidemiology, treatment and prevention
    This report, produced by the European Monitoring Centre for Drugs and Drug Addiction, provides an overview of the epidemiology of hepatitis C in Europe. It contains chapters on issues such as providing hepatitis C treatment to people who inject drugs, strategies to improve hepatitis C care and increasing uptake of treatment among people who inject drugs, and hepatitis C prevention among people who inject drugs.

  • Hepatitis C Annual Epidemiological Report for 2017
    The European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control has published a new report on the prevalence of hepatitis C in Europe. The report indicates a 10% decrease in newly reported hepatitis C cases from 2016 to 2017, but also warns of the under-reporting of diagnosed cases and the variation of national testing practices impacting the reliability of this statistic. Headline figures show that 5.6 million Europeans live with chronic hepatitis C, with more than 31,000 recorded cases in 2017.

  • Hepatitis C Baseline Data Review: Greater Manchester
    As part of the service redesign project the NHS Commissioning Service and the Commissioning Business Service conducted a baseline data review (BDR) of the hospitals in Greater Manchester that were treating hepatitis C patients.     This report summarises a December 2018 meeting organised by the Hepatitis C Coalition to discuss hepatitis C and BBVs in prison.
