  • Signposting the Way to Elimination by 2025
    The Hepatitis C Coalition is an umbrella group of leading clinicians, patient organisations, professional groups, industry and other interested parties committed to the reduction of morbidity and mortality associated with hepatitis C and its eventual elimination. This collaborative strategy builds on the release of the All-Party Parliamentary Group on Liver Health's 'Eliminating Hepatitis C in England' report and Public Health England's 'Hepatitis C in England: 2018 Report', with the aim of coordinating action by the key stakeholders involved in delivering elimination.

  • Social Impact of HCV
    This presentation from Dr Rui Tato Marinho, Gastroenterologist at Lisbon Medical School, was first delivered at the 'HCV and Your Body' conference in Amsterdam in November 2014. It provides an overview of the physical, mental and social impact of hepatitis C, and covers issues such as stigma; homelessness; unemployment and loss of productivity.

  • Standards for Local Surveillance and Follow Up of Hepatitis B and C
    These standards, produced by the Health Protection Agency in 2011, recognise that the detection and clinical management of hepatitis B and C can involve a number of health professionals, creating a diversity of clinical pathways. The development of the standards has also taken into account the fact that the prevalence of both hepatitis B and C varies markedly across the country and that current systems for the surveillance and follow up of cases also vary.

  • Staying Alive in Scotland: Strategies to Prevent Drug Deaths
    This updated toolkit, a partnership between the Scottish Government and Scottish Drugs Forum, updates the original report produced three years ago. The resource notes that DAA treatments for hepatitis C provide an opportunity to prevent drug-related deaths, but that opportunities to test for hepatitis C are being missed.

  • Steve Callaghan: HCV Action Commissioning Toolkit

    Steve Callaghan, who co-led development of the HCV Action Commissioning Toolkit, introduces the resource for commissioners of hepatitis C. The toolkit explains why effective commissioning for hepatitis C is essential, and gives advice on commissioning for outcomes under the new NHS by effectively assessing need, gathering evidence, developing services and measuring results.

  • Summary report: Bristol & Severn ODN workshop, Bristol
    This report provides a summary of the Bristol & Severn ODN Workshop held by HCV Action, in partnership with the ODN, in Bristol on 14th September 2017. The workshop brought together a range of stakeholders working across the hepatitis C pathway in the Bristol & Severn ODN region, with the aim of discussing some of the barriers faced by the ODN, as well as providing a forum in which to develop solutions to some of these challenges. The report includes summaries of the day's talks and group discussion, as well as suggested next steps to be taken following the event.

  • Summary report: Hepatitis C case-finding in under-served groups - October 2020
    This report summarises the October 2020 HCV Action webinar on hepatitis C case-finding in under-served groups, which formed part of a week-long series of webinars centred around the National Hepatitis C ODN Stakeholder Event. The webinar focused on four under-served groups in particular: Gypsy, Roma and Travellers; migrants; sex-workers, and the South Asian community.
