  • HCV Action Member Survey, June 2021
    In June 2021 HCV Action developed a survey asking the hepatitis C professional community for their views about hepatitis C care in the UK. Over 40 people responded to our survey from all areas of the UK. Our findings indicate a mixed picture of how testing, treatment and other care for people with hepatitis C has changed through the pandemic. We have also heard about people’s concerns and reservations on achieving elimination.

  • Laboratory reports of hepatitis C in England and Wales: January to March 2020

  • Laboratory reports of hepatitis C in England and Wales, 2019
    This report from Public Health England reveals that there were 16,005 confirmed laboratory reports of hepatitis C in England and Wales during 2019. The demographic breakdown of individuals with reported hepatitis C per quarter was relatively consistent with more reports among males and in the 35 to 44 year old age group. Overall, there was a 2.9% decrease in the number of reports received during 2019 compared to 2018.

  • Shooting Up: infections among people who inject drugs in the UK, 2019
    Drug use in the United Kingdom is among the highest reported in Western Europe and people who inject drugs (PWID) experience stark health inequalities, with increased morbidity and early mortality. This report explores infections, as well as associated risks and behaviours, among people who inject drugs in the UK to the end of 2019. It also presents preliminary data on the impact of COVID-19 on PWID and services in 2020.

  • Hepatitis C: Progress towards achieving elimination in Wales
    Following an inquiry into hepatitis C, the Welsh Assembly Health, Social Care and Sport Committee published this report. The report makes four main recommendations to the Welsh Government: that the Welsh Government produces a comprehensive national elimination strategy for hepatitis C, with clear ambitious targets, and workforce planning built in, and provides sustainable funding until elimination is achieved; implementation of a targeted awareness raising campaign to reach out to at risk communities; to write to Local Health Board

    This report provides a summary of the good practice hepatitis C roadshow held by HCV Action and Public Health Wales in Cardiff on 8th December 2017. The roadshows are a series of events aiming to bring together professionals working with hepatitis C in a variety of contexts, identify challenges and solutions for tackling hepatitis C locally, and showcase and share examples of good practice in prevention, testing, and treatment.
