Good practice case study: Pop-up hepatitis C testing for people in supported accommodation during the COVID-19 outbreak
During the COVID-19 pandemic, the ‘Everyone In’ policy meant that people who would otherwise be homeless were given accommodation in hotels. Surrey Operational Delivery Network, like many other ODNs, used this as an opportunity to engage with this cohort, offering testing and treatment for hepatitis C. Good practice case study: Hepatitis C care for homeless individuals in Slough
This good practice case study, produced by the Turning Point substance misuse service, highlights recent work carried out by nurse and hepatitis C champion Fay Smith in collaboration with colleagues. Good practice case study: Pharmacy in Ramsgate giving out daily treatment
This good practice case study looks at the service developed in a collaboration between Courts Pharmacy in Ramsgate, a nurse from East Kent Hospitals University NHS Foundation Trust, and The Forward Trust. Patients who are deemed unlikely to independently manage four weeks of treatment are given the medication in the pharmacy itself so they do not have to look after large numbers of tablets for long periods of time, getting around current legislative barriers preventing the dispensing of hepatitis C treatment from pharmacies.UK, England, South East Case study PDF

HCV Action and Public Health England hepatitis C roadshow in Kent: Presentations
HCV Action and Public Health England (PHE) staged the second hepatitis C good practice roadshow of 2018 in Maidstone on 5th September, bringing together 80 people from across Kent to discuss challenges to tackling hepatitis C and share solutions. Good practice case study: ITTREAT (Integrated community-based Test – stage – TREAT)
This HCV Action good practice case study summarises a 4-year Integrated Test-stage and TREAT (ITTREAT) community project in Brighton, where a specialist hepatitis nurse was appointed to lead a ‘one-stop’ holistic hepatitis C service - including testing, assessment of liver scarring, education and treatment - within a community-based substance misuse service.
